2011 Lights of Love - Shining for a stronger community
On December 10, 2011, the Lake Wales Family YMCA held its 23rd Annual Lights of Love on the shores of Lake Wailes. Lights of Love is an opportunity for people to purchase luminaries in honor or memory of loved ones. Local businesses can also purchase luminaries to honor their employees in appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Well over 900 luminaries lined the bike path and were lit for the community to enjoy and browse through.
Many are touched to see their names and those of loved ones on the beautiful luminaries. This year’s event was a great success. Thank you to all our members, friends and local businesses owners who participated. Your purchase of luminaries has helped to make our programs available to those who cannot afford it through our scholarship fund. Thank you for joining us as we shine for a stronger community.
Membership Drive – January 2012
In celebration of New Year’s Day, the Lake Wales Family YMCA will be closed on January 1st and 2nd. Starting January 3, 2012, the up front $50.00 joiner’s fee will be waived for all new members that join during the month of January. This is an opportunity to start the New Year as a healthier you and make your New Year’s Resolution a little more affordable. For more information on how to take advantage of this great offer, stop by and speak to one of our Membership Representatives. Remember, members gain access to the entire facility including our State-of-the-Art Fitness Center, Sauna, Basketball Court, Pool (seasonal) as well as all of our Group Exercise classes like Zumba, Senior Circle, All in Boot Camp and more.
