The Lake Wales Family YMCA is proud to announce Our Children’s Academy as the 2011 Corporate Cup Champions! Our Children’s Academy competed against other local businesses and organizations from November 12th – 15th in a series of events ranging from flag football and sand volleyball, to chili cook-offs and ice cream sundae eating races.
Events also included a clothes drive and food drive which went to benefit Lake Wales Care Center. The competitive juices were pumping throughout the competitions but positive attitudes and good sportsmanship could be observed by all.
This year’s Corporate Cup was very successful bringing in seven teams and hundreds of people to the YMCA over the four day competition. All proceeds went to benefit The Y’s Strong Families Campaign which provides funding for those in need to participate in YMCA programming. Fundraisers like the Corporate Cup are pivotal to The Y in an effort to promote Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility in our community.
